Meet Coach Krysh

Coach Krysh is a versatile chess educator who has been teaching since 2020, from three-year-old beginners to teens.

At one of the largest chess schools in Singapore, Coach Krysh taught chess and structured creative play to children aged 3 to 12, managing classroom energy, parent communication, and lesson adaptation for different ages and learning styles. He knows that a class of six-year-olds and a class of eleven-year-olds are two completely different games, and he plays both well.

Where most coaches teach chess as a subject, Coach Krysh teaches it as a world to explore. He is a Dungeon Master who has created entire fantasy worlds, characters, and puzzles for his players. He has written and developed his own visual novel, composes and produces original music, and designs story-based challenges where the cleverest puzzles reward you for looking back. When he teaches an opening or a tactic, it comes wrapped in a story, because that is how young minds remember.

Ask Coach Krysh about his favourite kind of story and he will tell you about closed loops: tales you only truly understand once you arrive back where you started and see it all anew. His classes are built the same way. Every lesson circles back, and every move tells a story.
